The Nevada Chapter's Teen Programs are designed to give young people the skills, tools, and confidence they need to successfully transition to a productive, pain-free, and independent future. Our teen programs challenge young adults to learn more about themselves,overcome obstacles, and build new relationships.
Teen Leadership Council:
The Council is open to any teen or sibling that is affected by bleeding disorders. The Council meets quarterly, plans activities for teens, helps set the education goals for the teen programs and brainstorms ways to connect teens in the bleeding disorders community. Teens Only Rafting Camp:
Age 14-17 (Saturday, July 11 - Wednesday, July 15) 12 Nevada teens will be joining teens from the San Diego County Hemophilia Association for a four night/three day medically supervised rafting trip on the south fork of the American River. Please review our Teen Rafting Camp Welcome Letter for full details on the camp and what to expect. Space is limited. Airfare and transportation to Lotus, CA (Approx. 2 hours drive from Reno) is provided, as well as all food and equipment. Campers bring clothing.
How to Apply: Applications will open March 1 and are due April 15th.

Elko Junior Counselor Program:
Age 16-19 (Friday, July 24-Sunday, July 26) Up to 8 Nevada teens who are interested in being a Junior Counselor for the Northern Nevada Family Camp are invited to a training in the evening on Friday 7/24 in Elko. Junior Counselors will lead younger children through fun games and activities during the day on Saturday and will be assigned other helper jobs throughout the weekend.

Teen Scene Leadership Day:
Age 14-20 (Saturday, August 1st, 10 am - 2 pm) Up to 30 teens will be selected for this intensive, adventure-education based retreat hosted by Gut Monkey. Gain leadership and independence skills through a series of games, challenges, reflection and activities. Held the same day as the Renee Paper Picnic - join your family in the evening for open swim, BBQ and fully loaded backpack. Registration will open in June. Space is limited. Limited Travel Grants available for northern Nevada participants.
Age 16+ We know you need hours for school and the Chapter needs help! Contact the Chapter if you are looking for volunteer hours. Please contact us at least 30 days before your hours are due to schedule an appropriate service project.
