Parents Empowering Parents or PEP1 is a unique 2.5 day program that provides
valuable conversations, exercises and tools for parents of children (ages: birth to
12 years old) with bleeding disorders.
PEP1 teaches participants how to be “the parent” and raise their children to
become independent, capable, and productive adults while living with their
bleeding disorder.

• Learning about the typical stages of childhood development
• Embracing your “new normal”
• Managing self-esteem - for your child and yourself
• Being aware of the impact of your parenting style
• Dealing with thoughts, feelings and emotions
• Communicating more effectively

Parents Empowering Parents – Transition or PEP2 is a unique 2.5 day program
that provides valuable conversations, exercises and tools for parents of teens
(ages: 12 years old and older) with bleeding disorders.
PEP2 teaches participants how to be “the parent” and empower their teens to
become independent, capable, and productive adults while living with their
bleeding disorder.
The PEP2 program includes interactive sessions and materials on …
• Learning about the teen brain and mindset through puberty
• Managing self-esteem - for your teen and yourself
• Being aware of the impact of your parenting style
• Dealing with thoughts, feelings and emotions
• Communicating more effectively
• Navigating topics like sex, tattoos, alcohol, bullying and career planning
• Creating time for your own self-care
