Teen Programs

The Nevada Chapter's Teen Programs are designed to give young people the skills, tools, and confidence they need to successfully transition to a productive, pain-free, and independent future. Our teen programs challenge young adults to learn more about themselves, overcome obstacles, and build new relationships.

Teen Leadership Council:

The Council is open to any teen or sibling that is affected by bleeding disorders. The Council meets quarterly, plans activities for teens, helps set the education goals for the teen programs and brainstorms ways to connect teens in the bleeding disorders community. If you are interested in joining email Betsy at bvandeusen@hemophilia.org to get involved.

Camp Dragonfly Teen Camp

Age 14-17 (July 10 - 14) 12 Nevada teens will be joining teens from the San Diego County Hemophilia Association for a four night/three day medically supervised rafting trip on the south fork of the American River. Please review our Teen Rafting Camp Welcome Letter for full details on the camp and what to expect. Space is limited. Airfare and transportation to Lotus, CA (Approx. 2 hours drive from Reno) is provided, as well as all food and equipment. Campers bring clothing.

Virtual or In-Person: We are constantly monitoring the safety of doing in-person programs. If it is safe to travel and hold camp, we hope to be able to do so. If it is not safe, we will hold a virtual teen camp similar to the program offered in 2020. We will be making this decision by May 1st, 2021 and will notify all families as soon as possible. Please note: Teens must register by the April 15th deadline to be considered for virtual or in-person camp.

How to Apply: Applications will open March 1 and are due April 15th.

1. Complete

2. Send all three forms to bvandeusen@hemophilia.org before April 15th.

3. Campers will be notified by April 20th if they have been selected.

Teens Only Programs:

Age 13-19 (Throughout the year) Teens are encouraged to sign-up for the teen programs offered during the virtual family conferences held throughout 2021. Teens will have a special teens only session featuring topics and activities that are chosen with input from the Teen Leadership Council.
