Camp Independent Firefly

Camp Independence was founded in 2003. Beginning in 2013, the Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation and the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada became partners to provide a premier camp program for youth affected by bleeding disorders and cancer. Camp Firefly and Camp Independence have come together as Camp Independent Firefly.

Our camp is designed to allow children with special medical needs the opportunity to experience camping and a variety of other traditional camp activities.  Because every child at camp will be affected by bleeding disorders or cancer in some way, they can easily feel accepted and part of a group.  The supportive environment at camp becomes a perfect place for healthy living and wellness guidance. The Camp Independent Firefly staff works closely with the Nevada Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation to provide a camp experience that is SAFE, FUN, AND EDUCATIONAL for our campers.
